On September 2, 2025, the Postdoctoral Research Station of CHCI held a mid-term assessment and project proposal defense for postdoctoral researchers at the Group Company’s headquarters in Shijiazhuang. The meeting was chaired by Nie Qingke, Chief Engineer of the Group Company and Director of the Postdoctoral Research Station. Group Company Chairman Li Huawei attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Shang Weidong, Director of the Technical Quality Department, Hao Yongpan, Director of the Human Resources Department, and other relevant personnel were also present.
The review committee consisted of invited experts including Wu Wei, Chairman of the Engineering Investigation Branch of the Architectural Society of China and National Engineering Investigation and Design Master; Li Qingbo, former Deputy General Manager of Yellow River Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. and National Engineering Investigation and Design Master; Professor Guo Huaming from China University of Geosciences (Beijing); Professor Rong Xian from Hebei University of Technology; Professor Xu Fei from Shijiazhuang Tiedao University; as well as internal supervisors from the Group Company, Li Huawei and Nie Qingke. Master Wu Wei served as the chairman of the committee.
During the meeting, Dr. Li Sha presented a mid-term report on her research titled "Development and Application of Dam Filling Materials Prepared from Collaborative Solid Waste." The committee unanimously agreed that the project progressed strictly according to the established plan, with substantial laboratory and field data, outstanding interim results, and satisfactory research progress. The mid-term assessment was approved.
Subsequently, three newly admitted postdoctoral researchers—Dr. Jie Shaolong, Dr. Li Xiaofeng, and Dr. Zhao Yan—delivered their project proposal presentations on the following topics respectively: "Reaction Mechanism and Mix Design of Alkali-Activated Red Mud-Based Geopolymer Based on Thermodynamic Simulation", "Mechanical Properties and Durability of Green Concrete Using Industrial Solid Waste", "Vertical Rock Breaking Mechanism and Key Technologies of Rotary Drilling Rigs Based on Deep Intelligent Neural Networks". After inquiry and discussion, the committee concluded that the three research topics were closely aligned with practical needs, complied with national industrial policies, and held significant theoretical and engineering application value. The research content was substantial, the technical routes were feasible, and the expected outcomes were innovative. The committee unanimously approved the proposals and provided guidance and suggestions for subsequent research.
At the end of the meeting, Chairman Li Huawei, on behalf of the Group Company, expressed sincere gratitude to the experts for their long-term guidance and support. He also extended earnest expectations to the postdoctoral researchers, encouraging them to adhere to demand-oriented research, strengthen collaborative innovation, integrate research results into the Group Company’s key projects, and contribute more significantly to building a top-class geotechnical engineering technology group.
The successful passing of one mid-term assessment and three project proposals at this defense marks a new level in the cultivation of high-level talent at the Group Company’s Postdoctoral Research Station, injecting vigorous technological momentum into the company’s high-quality development.
