The foundation treatment project for 100,000 tons/year carbon-based new materials project is located in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, invested by Lanzhou Dongjin Carbon-based New Materials Co., Ltd, with a total of 250,000 square meters of foundation treatment completed.
The stratigraphic distribution of the project is as follows: plain fill, loess-like silt, gravelly sand, cementation layer, highly-weathered mudstone, and moderately weathered mudstone. According to the investigation report, the fill soil is randomly filled without being compacted in layers, and the fill soil is also loess. The design requires to eliminate the collapsibility of the foundation soil completely through foundation treatment. Due to the low soil moisture content in some of the backfilled areas, which averaged only 8%, the design called for a moisture enhancement treatment. The water injection process was more difficult due to the fact that the previous backfill areas were not stratified and compacted. After the on-site water injection and humidification was completed and the dissipation period was reached, the water content of the foundation soil was between 6.9% and 12.2% according to the test report, the compaction coefficient was between 0.82 and 0.94, and the coefficient of collapsibility was between 0.005 and 0.015, which eliminated the collapsibility within the depth range of treatment.
Under the strong support of the company's leaders, the foundation treatment project for 100,000 tons/year of carbon-based new materials project was started on February 12, 2023 and completed on June 20, 2023. After 129 days of hard work, with all the project staff working in unity and cooperation, the project has successfully completed the construction tasks, laying a good foundation for negotiating to undertake the subsequent projects.
